Prepare the original projects

Read Requirements & dependencies first. This is a client-side Fabric patch, not a standalone replacement for Better Cats.

1. Prepare Minecraft 1.21.1, Fabric Loader 0.16.0 or newer and Java 21 or newer.
2. Install the required original resource pack and compatible EMF + ETF releases. Enable the resource pack according to its author’s instructions.
3. Install Better Cats Fix and the animation projects you intend to use. Keep their own dependencies and setup instructions.

Install the Luventry patch

Download Better_Cats_Compatibility.jar from the official release page. Put this JAR in the client profile’s mods folder.

The original resource pack belongs in the resource-pack setup; the Luventry JAR belongs in mods. They serve different roles.

The compatibility JAR already bundles its three technical patch components. You do not need to extract or download those inner patch JARs separately. It still requires the original projects.

Launch the matching profile and continue to Playing & usage.
